Kohl’s is proud to partner with Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America & NAMI to develop and implement critical programming aimed at improving the physical and emotional well-being of families. Our donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic program, Kohl’s Cares® Goods for Good, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to support happier and healthier communities nationwide.
In 2021, Kohl’s announced a $5 million commitment over three years, in support of a continued partnership with Alliance for a Healthier Generation to expand and scale its innovative family health and wellness initiative, Kohl’s Healthy at Home. The initiative, which first launched in 2019, is rooted in health equity and works closely with schools and community partners to inspire families to prioritize a healthy lifestyle. Consisting of a multimedia hub of proven tips, activities, and resources designed for parents and caregivers, Kohl’s Healthy at Home helps to make healthy choices easier for families.
Through this partnership, Kohl’s Healthy at Home inspires families to prioritize healthy living, with greater support of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) populations and underserved communities. Additional programmatic investments include the expansion of Spanish-language materials, custom digital tools, and building culturally responsive partnerships.
In 2022, Kohl’s renewed their commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a $10 million donation over three years to support the development and delivery of trauma-informed training to Club staff, providing them with the skills to implement trauma-informed practices through formal and informal learning experiences with youth. In addition, Kohl’s is a Signature Sponsor of the Youth of the Year program and events, further supporting youth across the nation. The national partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which was established in 2019, is rooted in Kohl's commitment to develop and execute critical programming aimed at improving the physical and emotional well-being of children and families.
In 2023, Kohl’s announced renewed partnership with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, with a $6 million commitment to help expand mental health support groups, programming and resources for individuals across the country, with a focus on reaching BIPOC communities. This most recent donation builds on Kohl’s support of NAMI, which is one of the retailer’s national philanthropic partners, and reaffirms both organizations’ commitment to improving overall family health and wellness.
As part of the partnership, Kohl’s also joined NAMI’s StigmaFree Company initiative. This unique program identifies and assists companies with a culture of openness, acceptance, and understanding about employees’ overall health and well-being. Participating organizations receive a variety of NAMI resources, expertise and assets to help in providing employee education opportunities and awareness initiatives inclusive of mental health.
