Kohl’s Celebrates Lunar New Year

As families across the country gather to commemorate the start of the new year in the Lunar calendar, Kohl’s is honored to recognize the diverse traditions celebrated amongst Asian American cultures.

The Year of the Rabbit
This Lunar New Year marks the Year of the Rabbit, considered a symbol of agility, luck and wisdom, so we’ve created some great products to celebrate, along with must-have apparel for your luckiest year. In honor of the Year of the Rabbit, Kohl’s and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) partnered to create a gender neutral Sonoma Community apparel collection, available exclusively at Kohl’s and on Kohls.com. The assortment will include apparel for adults and kids featuring the iconic Looney Tunes rabbit, Bugs Bunny. Through this collaboration, WBDGCP and Kohl’s aim to celebrate Lunar New Year through a modern lens.

We also know that Lunar New Year celebrations include large family gatherings, so we’ve developed an assortment of home products with beautiful designs that symbolize good luck, fortune, joy, wealth, and prosperity. Available now on Kohls.com and in 300 stores, the collection offers serving trays, throws, decorative pillows, kitchen towels, and more. We will also feature fortune cookie kits from Asian-Owned brand Global Grub.

“At Kohl’s, we know Lunar New Year is one of the most celebrated holidays amongst East and Southeast Asian cultures, and we are excited to offer apparel and home products that are representative of the cultural moment as well as inclusive of all the different cultures that celebrate,” said Michelle A. Banks, Kohl’s chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer. “We wish everyone in the Asian American community a year of good fortune, peace, health, and prosperity.”

Celebrating Together
Kohl’s Asian Pacific BRG (AP BRG) continues to elevate the contributions, health and wellness for Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans (AAPI) throughout the country. The BRG will engage associates across all locations with cultural resources, such as books and educational movie recommendations. Associates will also enjoy Lunar New Year field activities including virtual trivia and distribution of red envelopes as well as culturally relevant swag bags. Interested in learning more?
