Kohl’s Connects with the Future Leaders of Retail at NRF Student Program

Michelle Gass gives opening keynote to 800 students

It’s no secret that our associates love #LifeAtKohls. We may be biased, but we truly believe working in retail is one of the most dynamic and exciting careers – just ask any of the 140,000 Kohl’s associates nationwide. Kohl’s is always looking for talented individuals to join our winning team, and we are committed to helping the next generation discover their passion and the potential of a career in retail.

On Friday, January 12, Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandising and customer officer, delivered the opening keynote at the 2018 National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Student Program, a three day event offering opportunities for tomorrow’s workforce to network with industry leaders and explore careers in retail. With more than 800 students from more than 80 colleges and universities nationwide in attendance, Michelle Gass shared insights on the changing retail environment and what it takes to win.

In addition to Michelle’s keynote, Kohl’s connected with attending students by offering a behind the scenes look at Kohl’s New York Design Office and hosting a variety of networking and educational sessions led by our current associates to share first-hand insights into the myriad of career opportunities at Kohl’s.

To cap off the experience and showcase Kohl’s commitment to giving back, we hosted the Cold Hands Warm Hearts event at the iconic ice rink at Rockefeller Center including a fun, careful evening of ice skating and networking for students. Attendees were asked to bring one new cold weather item to be donated to children served by Cohen Children's Medical Center, a Kohl’s hospital partner.

Kohl’s was thrilled to be a part of the 2018 NRF Student Program, and we are filled with excitement and anticipation for the next generation of retail talent!
