Kohl’s Donates $160,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. June 6, 2017 – Kohl's (NYSE: KSS) today announced a donation of $160,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc. (RMHC) to further the organization’s mission of keeping families together while children are receiving medical treatment at Milwaukee-area hospitals. The funding, as part of Kohl’s ongoing support of the organization, will amplify RMHC Eastern Wisconsin’s programs and resources, as well as introduce a hospitality cart at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, in support of the organization’s goal of positively impacting 2,400 families this year.

“Kohl’s is proud to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin,” said Jen Johnson, Kohl’s vice president of communications. “Kohl’s shares the Ronald McDonald House’s commitment to supporting families, and we are pleased to play a role in ensuring parents and siblings are able to stay close to their loved ones during hospitalizations to give them even more love, strength and support when they need it most.”

Kohl’s funding will support the creation of a hospitality cart which will bring a range of healthy food offerings, toys, books and games directly to families receiving treatment at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Additionally, funds will further support the continuation of RMHC Eastern Wisconsin’s art and music expressive therapies and the community collaboration program which provides families access to Milwaukee’s best-in-class destinations, as well as the organization’s Secret Garden and related educational and memorial programs.

“We are thrilled to partner with Kohl’s to continue to provide critical resources to better serve every family that needs us,” said Ann Petrie, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin’s president and CEO. “This funding will ensure the therapeutic programs and services that make the Ronald McDonald House so much more than just a place to stay are available to the community of families we serve.”

The donation is made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic program, Kohl's Cares®, which sells children’s books and soft toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to benefit children’s initiatives. Since 2001, Kohl’s has committed more than $90 million to organizations in the Milwaukee area.
