Kohl’s Honored with Environmental Awards

Every April, people around the world celebrate Earth Month and take time to consider the importance of protecting our collective home. While Earth Month is recognized in April, it takes year-round effort to make a lasting positive impact. That’s why Kohl’s cares about instilling responsible practices across the company throughout the year - and is honored with leading environmental awards for doing so.

Recently, Kohl’s was awarded an A- CDP Ranking for our 2023 Climate Change Response and has been recognized at the CDP’s Leadership Level, both for the fifth consecutive year. CDP, considered the gold standard of environmental reporting, is a nonprofit that operates a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

Additionally, Kohl’s is one of only three retailers to be named a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program 2024 Partner of the Year for Sustained Excellence in Energy Management and has been named to the list 10+ consecutive years. The EPA’s Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence is their highest honor and is reserved for ENERGY STAR partners demonstrating outstanding leadership, year over year. The EPA has also recognized Kohl’s as a 2023 SmartWay High Performer, as 100% of our domestic miles are with SmartWay Carriers.
