Kohl’s Named to Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Fourth Consecutive Year

Kohl’s is proud to be included on the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) North America by S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This marks the fourth year in a row we have received the designation. Inclusion in the indices is a testament to our environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and commitments.

Each year, S&P Global invites the largest global companies to participate in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The CSA converts intangible aspects of a company's sustainability performance into tangible scores, providing an effective engagement platform for investors who wish to encourage companies to improve their corporate sustainability practices. This year we performed especially well in the areas of Corporate Governance, Climate Strategy and Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy.

At Kohl’s, responsible corporate citizenship is an important part of our company’s values and we’ve had a long standing focus on ESG, which includes taking care of people, communities, and our planet. We continue to take strides to ensure Kohl’s leaves a smaller footprint on our world, while also making a positive difference in the lives of families nationwide.

“We are honored to be recognized by the DJSI for the fourth consecutive year,” said Steve Thomas, chief risk and compliance officer for Kohl’s. “At Kohl’s, we are committed to incorporating sustainable solutions in the way we do business to help build better futures for our customers and associates. Sustainability is proudly woven into our company purpose and culture, and the DJSI’s continued recognition of Kohl’s serves as a reliable indicator of the strength of our ESG stewardship initiatives.”

As a purpose-led organization, ESG stewardship will continue to be an integral piece of Kohl’s culture and an important component of the company's strategic vision to be the most trusted retailer of choice for the active and casual lifestyle.
