Kohl’s Recognized with Two Leading Sustainability Awards
Kohl’s Named to Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Fifth Consecutive Year, Achieves A- CDP Ranking for 2022 Climate Change Response
At Kohl’s, responsible corporate citizenship and a strong ESG framework are an important part of who we are as a company, so we are honored to be included on the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI) by S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) and to receive an A- CDP Ranking for our 2022 Climate Change Response. This marks the fifth year in a row that we have been named to the DJSI and the fourth consecutive year that we’ve received a CDP A- ranking and been recognized at the CDP’s Leadership Level.
Kohl’s is one of only seven U.S.-based retailers to be named to the DJSI, which tracks the performance of the top 20 percent of the 600 largest Canadian and U.S. companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index that lead the field in terms of sustainability. To view the full DJSI, click here. This past year, we performed especially well in the areas of Operational Eco-Efficiency, Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy, and Corporate Governance. Additional information about the DJSI and S&P Global’s CSA can be found here.
As a nonprofit, CDP runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts and is considered the gold standard of environmental reporting. In 2022, a record-breaking 18,700+ companies disclosed through CDP and they scored nearly 15,000 companies on their climate change, forests and water security disclosures. Kohl’s has disclosed emissions data to CDP since 2007. Detailed information on our strategy and performance is included in our CDP Climate Change response and enables us to measure and manage our environmental impacts.
