Kohl’s Teamed Up with Drew and Jonathan Scott for a Library Makeover

In partnership with Kohl’s, HGTV’s Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott unveiled a new library for a deserving Houston elementary school as part of their library makeover campaign

As kids across the country are going back to class, one deserving group of elementary school students in Houston was welcomed back with a brand new library from Kohl’s, designed in partnership with authors and twin TV hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott of HGTV’s Property Brothers and Heart of America.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, Drew and Jonathan unveiled the newly renovated library to the students, staff and community of Burnett Elementary School in Houston. In partnership with Kohl’s, Scott Brothers Global, HarperCollins, and Heart of America, the school was selected out of thousands of nominations to receive the library makeover given the school’s impact on recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey.

“We were so excited to host this event and have the honor to renovate and redesign this library for such a deserving school and community,” said Drew Scott. “The space was designed with the needs of the students in mind, and we really wanted to make sure they not only had the right classroom resources but also a really engaging and interactive environment that inspires learning and growth.”

“Hearing about the hardships faced by this community during Hurricane Harvey, we were so touched by the role Burnett Elementary played in recovery efforts and bringing people together,” said Jonathan Scott. “It was important to offer a beautiful and functional space for students, as well as the entire school community. We are proud to have partnered with Heart of America and Kohl’s to bring this to life.”

Redesigned as part of the Library Makeover Campaign with Drew and Jonathan Scott, the library features interactive, engaging and inspiring space for the students to read and learn. The day of the unveiling, more than 40 Kohl’s volunteers from the Houston area joined Drew and Jonathan to help finish the new space and interact with students. While on-site, the brothers also read their new children's book to the school. The book, titled Builder Brothers: Better Together, released September 10th.
