Dining with Dignity: Kohl’s & JBJ Soul Kitchen

08/28/2018

In Red Bank and Toms River, New Jersey, Kohl’s associates are giving back to their community by volunteering their time at the JBJ Soul Kitchen, a non-profit community restaurant run by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, that serves paying and in-need customers.

At the JBJ Soul Kitchen, nobody is ever turned away. They offer farm-to-table meals in a warm, welcoming setting, and if a customer can’t pay, they can volunteer their time for a dining certificate that feeds them and their family.

To make this happen, the JBJ Soul Kitchen needs volunteers — enter Kohl’s. Through the Kohl's Volunteer Program, Kohl's associates donate their personal time at the Kitchen in a variety of roles — from serving in the restaurant to working on the farm. Many Kohl’s volunteers have given their time to serve the organization, which has allowed Kohl’s to donate more than $150,000 in recognition of associate volunteer efforts, feeding over 15,000 patrons a good meal in the warmth of good company.

Watch the video below to see how, with the dedication and passion of Kohl’s volunteers, the JBJ Soul Kitchen is helping those in need — one meal at a time.

Since 2001, Kohl’s associates have volunteered almost five million hours and Kohl’s has donated more than $155 million to organizations across the country in recognition of associate efforts. For more information on the Kohl’s Volunteer Program, click here.
