How Kohl’s Associates Gave Back During National Volunteer Month

Community engagement is a core part of who we are at Kohl’s, and we’re proud to have associates who care about their communities and are passionate about giving back. In recognition of National Volunteer Month this April, Kohl’s associates across the country came together to support their communities through the Kohl’s Cares Volunteer Program.

Driven by a shared commitment to the communities we serve, associates contributed nearly 3,000 volunteer hours nationwide. In our hometown of Milwaukee, Wis., teams partnered with organizations including Hunger Task Force, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin. Across the country, associates also supported local chapters of organizations such as YMCA, Feeding America, and Special Olympics. Activities ranged from packing food for local pantries to organizing spaces for summer programming and supporting community events like races and family fun days.

Through Kohl’s volunteer program, Kohl’s donates $25 for every hour an associate volunteers with an eligible organization. For National Volunteer Month, Kohl’s doubles the donation to $50 per volunteer hour, resulting in more than $145,000 in donations nationwide.

By supporting the time and efforts of our associates, we’re strengthening the communities where we live and work and are making a difference together.

Funding is made possible by the Kohl’s Cares Goods For Good® merchandise program, which donates 100 percent of the net profit to nonprofits supporting family health and wellness nationwide.
