Kohl's Names Matt Ward EVP Supply Chain
Kohl's announced the appointment of Matt Ward to the position of EVP, Supply Chain. Ward will be responsible for Kohl's supply chain and logistics network, including digital fulfillment strategies, global transportation operations, logistics planning, vendor relations, and the company's field operations in distribution centers and e-commerce fulfillment centers.
"I'm thrilled to announce Matt Ward as our new head of Supply Chain," said Michael J. Bender, Kohl's CEO. "With more than 10 years of leadership experience in our supply chain and transportation function at Kohl's, Matt is a trusted and proven leader for our business. He has a strong collaborative, cross-functional reputation and a result-oriented approach that will help us drive the business forward."
"I also want to thank Gregg Barta, Chief Supply Chain Officer, for staying on to support a smooth transition with Matt before he leaves for his previously announced retirement later this summer," said Bender. "We thank Gregg for his 21 years of service and leadership at Kohl's. During his time, he led efforts to grow and expand the sophistication of our Supply Chain Operations and improve our operations, ultimately, our customer experience. We wish him lots of happiness in his well-deserved retirement."
"I'm honored to take on this role leading our great Supply Chain team," said Ward. "Serving millions of Kohl's customers through our 1,200 stores and e-commerce business is a privilege that we earn each day. I look forward to continuing to work with our team, support our business and constantly look for ways to improve and enhance our operations to support a great customer experience, however our customers shop with us."
Ward will report to a Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO is a previously announced position that will report directly to Kohl's CEO, Michael Bender. A comprehensive search is currently underway for this role. The COO will oversee Kohl's enterprise operations and bring key teams – including Stores, Logistics, Procurement, and Loss Prevention – together under one leader.
