Kohl’s and Its Partners Provide Mental Health Resources for Families

Kohl’s is committed to family health and wellness, and we know that mental health plays a big role in overall well-being. That’s why, last year, Kohl’s announced national partnerships with Alliance for a Healthier Generation and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to develop and implement critical programming aimed at improving the physical and emotional well-being of children and families, through donations of $2 million and $3 million, respectively.

The impacts of COVID-19 have presented a new set of challenges for today’s parents as they care for the total well-being of their families throughout the school year and holiday season. To ensure families are equipped to support their children’s mental and emotional well-being during this unique time, Kohl’s and its partners are working together to provide some resources for families.

Feeling Healthy at Home. Our national nonprofit partner, Alliance for a Healthier Generation, worked with school health experts who understand the unique challenges faced by students and families this year to develop various social-emotional resources that families and parents can use to manage stress, regulate emotions and maintain strong relationships for the fall season. On the Feeling Healthy at Home website, families can explore a back-to-school toolkit, family bonding activities, self-care tips for parents and many more resources that will provide families with simple ideas and inspiration and help kids feel confident while in the classroom, either in person or virtually.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Kohl’s also partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of America at a national level to provide comprehensive development training for staff and to integrate emotional and social skills into all program curriculums. The programing will impact 4.6 million kids and teens across the country.

Children’s Wisconsin. Additionally, Kohl’s announced last year a $5 million donation to Children’s Wisconsin to help launch a multi-year mental health strategy to improve mental health services for kids and families in Wisconsin. Recently, we’ve partnered closely with Children’s on their Shine Through campaign, which aims to detect mental and behavioral needs sooner, reduce stigma, and improve access to care for kids in need in Wisconsin.
