Kohl’s Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

09/21/2023

This Hispanic Heritage Month, and throughout the year, Kohl’s is committed to investing in Hispanic and Latino communities. From September 15 to October 15, we will continue to support our community partners, amplify the voices of our Hispanic and Latino associates, and feature products from Hispanic and Latino guest artists

“Kohl’s is excited to celebrate the contributions, voices and impacts of Hispanic and Latino Americans,” said Michelle A. Banks, Kohl’s chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer. “We are proud to showcase the vibrant history of Hispanic and Latino cultures through our product designs and look forward to celebrating all month long with our associates and communities.”

Kohl’s Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight Collection
Proudly created by the Kohl’s Diversity Design Council and Latine Digital Painter and Freelance Illustrator Whitney Salgado (They/Them), Kohl’s Hispanic Heritage Month collection celebrates the rich cultures of Latin American communities. Offering culturally-relevant designs, every item in the assortment was selected or designed to pay homage to the legacy of Hispanic and Latino trailblazers. Check out a few of our Hispanic Heritage Month collection below.

About Guest Artist Whitney Salgado

Inspired by nature and floral patterns found in Mexican textiles during trips to visit their abuelitos, Whitney Saldago’s illustrations celebrate the beauty within Latine traditions and culture. This vibrancy for life is reflected in their use of color and lightheartedness, with a goal of instilling happiness. Whitney would like people to focus on the importance of bringing awareness to the variety of Latine peoples and their traditions. Check out more about Whitney below:

Investing in Hispanic and Latino Communities
Kohl’s is committed to creating opportunities for success throughout the Hispanic and Latino communities. This Hispanic Heritage Month, Kohl's is proud to support the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) through an investment of $100,000 for support services to enable and empower students, parents, scholars, and alumni to set a course for academic and career success. Learn more about this scholarship fund and its impact at HSF.net

In addition, our Kohl’s Cares book collection features the work of Hispanic and Latino authors with 100 percent of the net profits supporting the health and wellness of families in our communities. This year’s titles include Federico and the Wolf, We're Different, We're the Same, and Where Are You From.

Celebrating Together
In the coming weeks, our Hispanic y Latino Business Resource Group (BRG) will host interactive events for our associates. Celebrating Latino culture and cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce, the group will kick off the month with a September Cafecito to connect with fellow members and participate in other experiences such as cultural podcasts, music playlists and community volunteer events.
