Our National Partners

Kohl’s is proud to partner with Alliance for a Healthier Generation and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to enhance children’s physical, mental and emotional well-being, improving families’ health and wellness nationwide. Our donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic program, Kohl’s Cares®, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to support happier and healthier communities nationwide.

Alliance for a Healthier Generation

In 2021, Kohl’s announced a $5 million commitment over three years, in support of  a continued partnership with Alliance for a Healthier Generation to expand and scale its innovative family health and wellness initiative,  Kohl’s Healthy at Home. The initiative, which first launched in 2019, is rooted in health equity and works closely with schools and community partners to inspire families to prioritize a healthy lifestyle. Consisting of a multimedia hub of proven tips, activities, and resources designed for parents and caregivers, Kohl’s Healthy at Home helps to make healthy choices easier for families.

Through this partnership, Kohl’s Healthy at Home inspires families to prioritize healthy living, with greater support of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) populations and under-resourced communities. Additional programmatic investments include the expansion of Spanish-language materials, custom digital tools, and building culturally responsive partnerships.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Kohl’s began it’s formalized national partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2019, committing $3 million over three years to provide comprehensive social and emotional development training to staff. BGCA was able to integrate social-emotional development into program curriculum and staff practices that will reach over 4 million youth at club locations. In addition, Kohl's is a supporter of local clubs through our A Community With Heart Program and associate volunteering efforts, as well as a key sponsor of regional and national Youth of the Year events.

In 2021, Kohl’s announced its partnership with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, to refresh its Support Group model, making it more accessible and relevant to the needs of today’s families. Kohl’s commitment of $2 million over two years will give individuals with mental health conditions and their families access to no-cost peer-led support groups for people experiencing mental health conditions or those who care about them. The support groups will expand to include new trauma-informed, cross-cultural training enhancements to foster a more equitable and inclusive future.

As part of the new partnership, Kohl’s also joined NAMI’s StigmaFree Company initiative. This unique program identifies and assists companies with a culture of openness, acceptance, and understanding about employees’ overall health and well-being. Participating organizations receive a variety of NAMI resources, expertise and assets to help in providing employee education opportunities and awareness initiatives inclusive of mental health.
